Corrections Policy

We aim to get it right the first time. When we don't, we put it right quickly and openly.

How we correct

Material errors of fact are corrected on the article and acknowledged in a clearly labelled correction note at the foot of the piece.

Updates

Where a story develops, we update it and add a timestamp noting the change. Minor typographical fixes are made silently.

Right of reply

Subjects of a story who believe they have been misrepresented may request a reply. We will publish a fair response promptly.

Request a correction

Email editor@thereadout.co.uk with the URL of the article, the passage in question and the basis for the correction. We respond to all corrections requests.
